1.00 hospitalized. Ignition of vapors, gases, or liquids — Second degree heat (thermal) burns — Face, unspecified. An employee was pin spotting or installing rivets on panels. The panels were coated with an adhesive, and the tool used to rivet the panels caused a spark that ignited the adhesive. The resulting flames caused second degree burns to the employee's face, burned the employee's head and hair, and caused a possible respiratory tract injury. The employee was hospitalized.
