1.00 hospitalized. Direct exposure to electricity, greater than 220 volts — Second degree electrical burns — Hand(s) and arm(s), n.e.c.. A crew had just installed lightning arresters on a de-energized distribution line. When they energized the line, they realized that one lightning arrester needed adjustment. A lineman went up in a bucket to adjust it. When he tried to loosen its bolts, an arc flash occurred between the bolts and his impact wrench. He suffered second-degree burns to both hands and forearms.
